Chocolate Clover Lollipops

Everyone needs a little extra luck here and there. So let’s play leprechaun this St. Patrick’s Day and give away the sweetest clover lollipops EVER. What I especially love about them is that you can use them in so many ways! Besides a lovely giveaway for friends and colleagues, they make a great centerpiece or place card for your next party. Or you could use them as lucky cake toppers to decorate a basic cake. Whatever you’re planning, see here for how to start…

Materials needed: white chocolate, clover shaped cookie cutters, metal cutter, cake pop sticks, heart-shaped sweets, sprinkles, green food coloring, baking paper, mixer

Step 1: First of all, you need to cut a small gap into the cookie cutter so that the stick can be inserted. Use a small but strong metal cutter. The gap shouldn’t be too big, so the chocolate does not run out there later.

Step 2: Place your cookie cutters on baking paper and insert a cake pop stick into each cookie cutter.

Step 3: Now it’s time to melt the chocolate. The best and fastest way is to break the chocolate into small pieces by using a blender and put everything into a cup. Place the cup in hot (but not boiling) water and stir until the chocolate has melted.

Step 4: Afterwards you can add food coloring to get the desired green color. I would suggest to use a powder here, as a liquid will change the consistency in a strange way. Start small and add food coloring until you have the right shade.

Step 5: Press the cookie cutter firmly onto the base and pour chocolate into it spoon by spoon until the stick is fully covered.

Step 6: Time to decorate! Play with various heart shaped sweets so you can repeat the clover form on the lollipop. Add sprinkles and let everything dry for at least one hour.

Pro tip: Getting the chocolate out of the mould can be a little tricky. The best way is to slowly warm the outside of the cookie cutter with a lighter, so that the edges melt a little and the lollipop slides out easily.

Cactus Gift Boxes

A cactus as a gift? Even for kids? We must be kidding! But we don’t, cause this one is perfectly safe. Our cactus gift box comes with a soft touch (from the pipe cleaner) that you constantly want to feel. Filled with lots of sweets and some tiny toys, it’ll make a great giveaway at your next BBQ! Here is how it’s done…

Materials needed: colorful cardstock, x-acto knife, scissors, rulerhot glue gun, pencil, pipe cleaners in multiple colors, favors as treats

Step 1: Fold a sheet of cardstock in half. Draw the outline of a cactus.

Step 2: Cut along the outline so that you have two identical cacti. Cut several strips of cardstock with a width of 4 centimeters.

Step 3: Fold the long edge of the strip in about 1 centimeter and then fringe cut evenly about 1 centimeter up to the crease.

Step 4: Put some hot glue on the fringe edge and place it along the edge of the cactus until the whole form is completely surrounded. Repeat this on the other cactus but this time leave some room to the edge. This way, you can slide both pieces of the box together easily.

Extra tip: It helps to bend the paper over a finger before gluing it on the cactus, so that it adapts to the curves more easily.

Step 5: Decorate the cactus with colorful pipe cleaners to give it a fun texture. Finish it with a paper flower and fill it with lots of small goodies.

Materials needed: tall narrow glass, pot, white candles, wax crayons in various colors, white cardstock, scissors, glue, tape, pen, flame printable

Step 1: Break one white candle into small pieces and put them in the glass. Add half of a wax crayon. (Start with a little color, as this will be easier to get the ombre look.)
Step 2: Heat everything in a water bath until it’s all liquified.
Step 3: Immerse a new white candle several times to different depths and let it dry a few seconds in between. For example, dip 1/3 of the desired coverage the first time, then 2/3, then 3/3. Adjust these depths as you wish to create your own ombre effect.
Step 4: Print the flame printable, mix and match the flames as you like. Write your note on the card.
Step 5: Wrap the lower part of the card around the candle and seal it with a bit of colorful tape.
